Multan is a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is Pakistan's third largest city by area and its fifth largest by population. In the geographic center ,the city is located on the banks of the Chenab River of the country.Multan is located in a bend created by five rivers of central Pakistan.
Multan is known as the City of Sufi Saints and Madinat-ul-Auliya because of the large number of Sufi saints from the city. The birth of BABA FAREED took place there,who was the renowned poet of Punjabi language.

Inhabitants of District can speak a great variety of Punjabi language, although few of these dialects are called as separate language “Saraiki”, but because of good and loving nature of people, there is no distinction or hate among different dialects and have a mix culture of Great (North and South) Punjab..

Background
Multan was conquered along with Sindh by Muhammad bin Qasim, from the local ruler Chach of Alor circa 712 AD.Following bin Qasim's conquest, the city was securely under Muslim rule, although it was in effect an independent state and most of the subjects were non-Muslim.Multan's famous Medical College

President spokesman Farhatullah babar said "New provinces are not possible without constitutional amendment and there is no chance of happening it in present circumstances ."
